In Sharjah there is an aviation museum named 'Al Mahatta' that Andre did not wanted to miss as a passionate glider pilot.
We were positively surprised how professional and large the collection is constructed. The museum is located in the city and is the originally building of the old-Sharjah airport, which was opened in 1932. The current main road was once the airstrip of the airport, which was replaced by a new building outside Sharja in 1977.
In addition to several airplanes from the history of Arab Airlines, the museum houses an exhibition on the old, first military and later civilian used airport, a further hall shows the evolution of bird flight back to the jet plane. A real insider tip and definitely worth a visit!
Afterward there was a visit to the Blue Souk on the program, an 'ice-cold' (on felt 60 degrees Fahrenheit down cooled) shopping center with countless shops and businesses.
If someone likes gold jewelry, this is the right place …
The DeLoreans are on the way with the container ship, Thursday we fly to Mumbai.
