After three long weeks of waiting we finally drive Delorean again……
At 12pm we had an appointment with our shipping agent Mustafa Merchant at the entrance gate of Nhava Sheva port, where we got our access passes.
Now we had first of all more than one and half hour waiting , while Mustafa was collecting signatures and stamps. In the meantime a container forklift transferred the three containers from the storage area to the customs building.
Then it finally happened and we were present when the three boxes were unsealed and opened.
Our three Deloreans survived the shipping undamaged and they start at first attempt.
Afterwards we drove our cars to the customs building where a customs officer checked the data and serial numbers of the Deloreans. As soon as we were in the parking area , the first onlookers stood around the vehicles, it did not changed until the evening.
The complete customs and import procedures and checking the containers of any damage also needs it's time. From Mustafa we received the car-insurance for India and Nepal, because our German insurance policy is not valid here.
In the end we could leave the port area at 6:45 pm and now we are probably the first Deloreans , which are on the move in India.
In the dark with the chaotic Indian rush-hour traffic we drove the 12,5 miles to the hotel, but we survived!
Todays destination: Park three Deloreans in front of the hotel. Reached !
