Day 68

11/11/2015 Singapore

Sightseeing around the Marina Bay Singapore and Chinatown with shops, restaurants and temples was our today's program. Although we have only limited space in the luggage, but a few souvenir purchases were necessary...

In between, there was a brief downpour but was just as quick to end as it had begun.

Day 66

11/09/2015 Singapore

Australia requires that the cars have to be cleaned very carefully before they are allowed to be imported. Thats why today carwash and car care were on our to-do list. The shop was booked in advance by our shipping agent Imran and by about 11am the big cleaning began. After we completely striped out the Deloreans, the first action was cleaning the underbody with an high-pressure cleaner. After that the interior was vacuum cleaned, brushed and scrubbed. In the end each car got a foam car wash and exterior cleaning by hand.

Spick-and-span we drove our Deloreans over to the shipping company yard where the cars disappeared in containers for the second time during the Worldtour.

Fixed by timber bars and ropes the travel now starts to Australia.

On the way to this location a Lamborghini Gallardo with a waving driver overtook us.

Shortly after that following message reached us on facebook:

Hi I was the grey lamborghini that drove past you this morning. Can I come meet you guys. I am a big fan of the delorean and my buddy is a delorean owner in Singapore please let me know
Nicolas Amet

We arranged to meet at 6pm at the Hotel and Nicolas came as announced with Lambo to the hotel and was blown away by our Deloreans.

As it turned out, his friend Andrew was the first and until now only owner of a Delorean in Singapore, but the car was sold to Malaysia a few years ago. Nicolas made a phone call and actually Andrew Lau came along with his Lamborghini Gallardo, too.

We continued our conversation at a Japanese dinner, before we accompanied Andrew to his home and fulfilled his wish to make some pictures with the Deloreans in front of his house.

Driving Delorean connects!

Day 64

11/07/2015 Singapore

This morning we welcomed DeLorean fans and amateur photographers of the “Singapore Exotic Car Spotters” at our Hotel, they had requested a photo shooting yesterday.

First we drove to the vicinity of the Changi Airport, there was an abandoned road, where we did the first photo shooting.

Then we moved to the city center to a great location (thanks to the guys from Singapore, without them we would have never found this place!).  There we did phantastic pictures with the Marina Bay Sands Hotel and the skyline with the Singapore Flyer.

Finally, there was a 'guerrilla action' at the worlds famous Raffles Hotel. For an official photo shooting we could certainly never get a permission, so we just went to the square in front of the hotel, parked our DeLoreans, opened the doors and shot the pictures. Before the perplexed doorkeepers and the concierge could protest we were gone again. The main thing was that the pictures are in the box!
