04/03/2016 Fremont - Leesburg VA (USA)
Again a pure driving day, from which there's not too much to tell.
Our decision from yesterday to change the route, turned out to be the right one once more, because the weather report showed for today again heavy snowfall exactly over Detroit.
Hannes Steim, Delorean owner from the Black Forest who now lives in Toledo nearby our hotel, found out, that we're in Fremont over night and wanted to visit us of course. Gladly, but please with a broom, so that we can sweep the layer of snow off the Delos. At half past eight on time Hannes was standing in front of the door and we could free the cars from snow.
The start today was at 9 o'clock at frosty -3 degrees Celcius, the first 300 miles toward Leesburg/ Washington DC we still drove through snowy and cold landscapes. Later it became greener and sunnier, until Leesburg the thermometer climbed up to comfortable +13 degrees.
For the next two nights we're stay at the Kronenberg family in Leesburg, Klausi's brother-in-law and sister-in-law, who live there since 14 years.

04/02/2016 Crystal Lake - Detroit - Fremont (USA)
The first look out of the window this morning showed a snowed in Delorean. The cars of Klaus and Andre found some place in the garage last evening, but Wolfgang’s Delo had to stay outdoor during the night. Thus he needed to clean the snow first this morning.
After a delicious breakfast at Julee and David Swingle we went on our way via Chicago to Detroit.
The weather forecast didn’t look good this morning and it should have been right.
Right after we passed Chicago dark clouds were appearing and it began to snow heavily.
After 100 miles in stormy snowfall with visibility under 50 metres at some times, we shortly decided to take Detroit out of our tour program and already travel South to Washington DC today. We need to arrive punctually in Portland/Maine on Thursday. There we have to ship our Deloreans to Iceland, we didn't want to endanger this date! Calling a friend in Detroit confirmed our decision, because there also was heavy snowfall.
As our new destination for the day we chose Fremont/Ohio, where we arrived at our hotel at about 5 p.m.
During the dinner there also fell a lot of snow, “Three Delos in the Snow”

03/31/2016 Louisville - Springfield IL (USA)
In pouring rain (just as the weather forecast has announced yesterday) we started this morning from Louisville on the Interstate 65 towards Indianapolis. Fortunately the rain stopped shortly before our arrival and so we could place our Deloreans in front of the Speedway Indianapolis.
We went on towards Springfield/Illinois, at half of the way, we ran into a heavy thunderstorm with cloudburst and hail, the visibility dropped to zero, so we had to stop under a bridge for safety reasons. After a few minutes the nightmare was over and even the sun shines again.
In Springfield we met Rich Weissensel and Bill Schafer, both are Deloreanowner which are known with Klaus for many years. Rich is well known for his outlandish Delorean creations, he build the D-rex , the Delorean-limo and a Delo-convertible.
Near by there an with old bricks original restored part of the classic Route 66, which is drivable as an part of a public road.
After check in at the hotel 'President Abraham Lincoln' we had dinner with all involved persons and later we had 'petrol talks' in the hotel bar. Rich and Bill will be with us tomorrow on the way to Crystal Lake / Chicago.
