Today we drove from Gainesville over Tampa, St. Petersburg, Longboat Key and Sarasota along the Gulf Coast to Naples.

In Bonita Springs we visited the Delorean Motor Company Florida, where we were welcomed by Manager Mike Fiore and Tom Huckleberry. The World Tour DeLoreans were again immediately inspected and marveled by the mechanics.

Then Tom showed us Proto1, the first built Delorean prototype, which still is very different from the later production models. The car was restored a few years ago at DMC Florida, then sold, later bought back and now it is on display in the saleroom.

Pilot 21, one of the first pre-production test car from 1980/81 is also at DMC Florida, but unrestored and in bad condition, but it is for sale.
