2016/03/19 Houston/Humble - Diamondhead (USA)
In the South of Texas, Louisiana and Mississippi the coast regions are momentarily flooded due to the heavy rain during the last weeks. For four days our route over the Interstate 10 had been blocked because of the flood. Klaus already programmed various diversions in our navigation systems yesterday. But a last online-check this morning brought the good news that the I10 has been re-opened since last night. The World Tour Team was lucky again!
We started from Houston and alongside the coast roads we could see the floods.
Our tour lead us through Texas, Louisiana and Mississippi. An hour to New Orleans we reached our destination for today - Diamondhead.
On the hotels parking lot we came in touch with the former basketball player Mike. Together with his wife Suzette he now manages the nearby restaurant Big Shirley's. There we had dinner, South-State and Creol food, it was delicious! Everybody who travels here should have a visit. Very recommendable!

03/18/2016 Houston/Humble (USA)
Today we spent the day at the Delorean Motor Company in Humble. Wolfgang had business talks with Stephen Wynne and James Espey, Klaus used the time for changing the USA-route. Our back office (Sven in Munich) informed us, that we have to deliver the Deloreans two days earlier than planned in Portland/Maine, for shipping to Iceland. Therefore the route and hotel planning had to be adjusted once again short term.
In the late afternoon the members of the Texas Deloreans Club arrived. Klaus met Shannon Birdwell again, who he got to know at the Deloreans Carshow 2008, as well as Owen Malbec, he is in contact also.
Stephen Wynne had fun obviously at the test drive in the World Tour Delorean
James Espey in the 'Time Machine'

03/17/2016 Dallas/Forney - Houston/Humble (USA)
With an overcast and hazy weather we started this morning after breakfast at the 'Waffle House' from Dallas/Forney in direction Humble for the Delorean Motor Company.
Arrived!
There we were welcomed by owner Stephen Wynne and CEO James Espey.
Wolfgang had of course to introduce the World Tour Deloreans to them, the two DMC-mechanics Bill and Khristian were very interested also and amazed by the built-in technical solutions in our cars.
Then Stephen and James led us through the 'hallowed halls', the huge parts warehouse and the workshop.
A few details about the project 'new Delorean' (price $ 100,000, available expected autumn 2017) Stephen was also willing to tell. The prototypes of the new bodies are there already; here partially visible is the honeycomb structure of the new material.
If someone is interested in buying a time machine, here it is:

03/16/2016 Abilene - Dallas/Forney (USA)
This morning we were surprised as there was a fourth Delorean parking in the car park of our motel. The car belongs Flicky Martenson from Chicago who professionally had an appointment in Dallas. He decided to go one day earlier and meet the World Tour Team.
Klaus, Flicky, Andre and another motel guest.
After a common breakfast we drove along Forney, a small place near Dallas.
There John Hervey runs his company DeLoreanAutoParts, a mail order specifically for Delorean parts.
In front of Johns garage and parts warehouse we once again made a technical service of our Deloreans including lubricate the balls joints. Andre and Klaus' cars get additional a new Angle-Drive because the old one stopped working since Asia. Because we measure the speed with GPS, Head Up-Display and mechanical digital tachometer, a new angle-drive wasn't necessary, but John has an upgraded part in stock, and now we are hereā¦
Later John Hervey showed us his new warehouse, where he can accommodate all spare parts in one building and still has space for his parts cars.
