02/29/2016 Arroyo Grande - Los Angeles (USA)
A.G. told us last night that Arroyo Grande has a beach drivable by car. We went there this morning and after payment of $5 fee we were allowed to drive with our Deloreans on the sandy beach and to take pictures directly at the Pacific.
Halfway to Los Angeles we visited Wolfgang’s friend Jill (Team Deloman driver), who is making a visiting semester at the University of Camarillo.
We continued the journey across the scenic impressive coastal Highway 1, past the celebrity locations Malibu and Santa Monica before we ended up in a traffic jam on the interstate 405. The 405 is one of the busiest streets in the United States and accordingly often crowded.
At half past four we arrived at our hotel, where already Delorean owner Skip Vaughan waited for us. A little later Ron Ferguson - President of Delorean Owners Association - arrived to welcomet the World Tour Team in Los Angeles. Together we drove to the house of Delorean veteran Don Steger, who provides us with his equipment for the technical check and oil change tomorrow. For adjusting the valves the engine has to be cold, therefore our cars are parking in front of Don's Garage tonight.
Once again our day ended with a dinner of all person involved, this time with burgers at the 5 Guys.
